The room had only one very thin pillow per person and lacked basic amenities like soap and tea towels. The curtains let in a lot of street light, making it tough for light sleepers, and the fridge made annoying noises during the night. The restaurant was closed due to a recent break-in, and when it was time to check out, there was no one around to receive the room keys.

Staying at Essex Arms was a delightful surprise! The king room was spacious with a comfortable bed and excellent amenities, including a flat-screen TV and kettle. The staff were warm and attentive, ensuring our stay was enjoyable. Plus, the shared lounge area was a great spot to unwind with tea and coffee.
Traffic noise can be noticeable.
